GPEP - Urban Camp 2022
Last Thursday and Friday (04/08/2022 & 05/08/2022), the Geelong Positive Engagement Program (GPEP) students went to Melbourne for the Urban Camp. The camp focusses on homelessness and disadvantage in the community. Students participated in workshops with the Salvos and Intersection to gain a deeper understanding of homelessness, the causes and impacts while building their skills in empathy. Students also experienced the different cultural foods of Melbourne, took on the Edge Experience at Eureka Skydeck, explored the Queen Victoria Market and developed their independence, team work and communication skills while navigating the CBD in the Amazing Race. The GPEP crew had a wonderful time and learnt plenty on the way.
A big thank you to Jamilla Cranny and David Allitt for giving their time on the camp.
