GPEP NT Camp - 2022
GPEP NT Camp - 2022
Wow what a trip!
Beautiful scenery, people and area of Australia. One I will never forget.
Some of the most
memorable moments from this camp for me and possibly our class was our visit to
the reptile centre with Rex, sleeping under the stars and learning about them
and the amazing environment that we were in.
Our class had the opportunity to meet the Lilla community out near Kings Canyon (Watarrak) and stay there for 3 days. Over that period we were smoked onto country with emu bush in a smoking ceremony. We were able to experience some activities that our First Nation people do, such as dot painting, speer/boomerang throwing and to the delight of many to go to natural watering holes and go swimming. We were also lucky enough to go to a few special and sacred sites around Lilla, where we were able to learn a bit about what some symbols and sites were once used for. After 3 amazing days at Lilla, we had to leave to go to the wonderful Uluṟu-Kata-Tjuta National Park. We were able to look through and walk around the amazing Uluṟu. We were also able to walk through the biggest two hills of Kata-Tjuta
A special thank you to Mr Envall and Mrs Walsh for taking and enjoying this amazing time and experience with us.
And to our amazing tour guide, Jackson and our bus yummo! Which we couldn’t have done without and it definitely wouldn’t have been as much fun.
One of my favourite parts was watching Jackson stack it when he fell over the hole he just dug!
A highly recommended
trip if you are planning on doing GPEP in 2023.
